Hi,
has anybody any opinions about Sagantech's METRO 6?

I have (still) G3 with OS 9.2.2 and Metro seems to be quite simple to use. Please give "the good and the bad news" about Metro.

I have found Metro very easy to use... In fact I have not found anything bad about the program. It's simple. Has a great midi sequencer, fully capable of doing anything you can think of. Great recording program that has exceeded all of my expectations. I can not see any reason a person would want to fight with those other mind warping programs.

BTW I use metro on a G3 iMac, OS 9.?? with 192 megs of ram. The ram limits me to about 10 stereo audio tracks... Gotta get one of them new fangled G5's with tons of ram...... cool.gif

biggrin.gif Hi, Chuck! I finally got around to seeing how the site was doing and here you are!

I have wondered about metro myself. One of the reasons I didn't want it is that I wouldn't be able to read Cakewalk files nor would Cakewalk users be able to read mine.

Is the current version the same way?

Hi Jean!
Glad to see ya around these parts! Lot's of resorces here, and a pretty good bunch of folks to boot!

The story of metro is a long and twisted one, so I'll try to keep it short. Cakewalk bought metro (which originally also came with Deck..). They bought it to try to get into the mac market. Unfortunatly they never made it so metro could read Cakewalk bundles... Nowadays metro has gone back to it's original founder, and is still basically the same. 6 has some features that 5 did not, just to make it extreemly powerful...

My little brother uses cakewalk programs, and try as we might we cannot get the bundles to com. So he just saves everything as AIFF or wave, and or midi, and I import them into metro... everything sync's up fine...so far!

Hi, Chuck!

I am happy to be here. It's a very nice place. I am having a hard time financially so I can't afford to be an active member. I would if I could though, it seems a very worthwhile org.

I am going to check the Metro site and see if they have a free reader like the Finale program has. I am using the free reader at school to teach the kids beginning notation. CU later.
