I think you are a bit confused as to what the drum editing grid is. It is for use with midi instruments. wav files are audio, not midi, so it cannot be done in the audio format. If the samples are single drum hits (or maybe short loops) you could use a sampler to trigger the sounds. The single drum hits would be loaded into the sampler (in this case you are probably going to want to use a soft sampler), in cubace you would then select the sampler (a VSTi sampler in this case) then you would hit D on your keyboard (the one your typing on) opening the drum grid. In the drum grid you would put the drum hits in the grid. For example on beats 1 and 3 you would put a bass drum hit, and so on. When you hit play, the drums will play. I'm pretty sure this is not the rout you are looking for. So the best you can hope for is to load the samples into the computer in wave form, import the wave you want into cubase, hilight the sample (at zero crossings (beginning of the loop to end) choose copy in the edit comand, and paste as many times as needed. Of course, you will have little to no controll over the tempo.... Your best bet will be to use a loop sequencer (like ableton live, or garage band).
