Send in the damaged Dongle and Logic will send you another... Of course you'll have to prove ownership.

I would be less than optimistic that Apple (not Emagic) is going to replace the dongle for free. Here's what apple support says:
Email and Telephone Support for Emagic branded products is no longer available.

If you have Logic Pro 7 or later, and require a replacement XSKey, you may contact Apple with your request at www.apple.com/support/logic. Please note that it does not matter whether you are running Logic Pro 7 with a blue or white XSKey to be eligible for support. If you have Logic version 5 or 6, please send your request via email to support@emagic.de.

Replacement XSKeys for Emagic Logic versions 5 and 6 (blue Emagic XSKeys) will be available for purchase only until January 1, 2006. After such time, customers may purchase the then current version of Apple Logic Pro, which will include an XSKey that is compatible with Emagic Logic versions 5 and 6, including all Emagic plug-ins.

Good luck!

Lorn76...

This Mac Forum is the most helpful you are likely to "Ever" find. Those who frequent this Forum are either whizz kids with 'Answers/Solutions for most TECHNICAL Problems.

Lorn 76, you must admit "The Doggie Dongle Story" is both tragic and funny. I know a Logic Technician here in Hamburg, Germany, he says he gets them all the time 'Broken Dongles" mostly from Sweden for some odd reason. I digress. As long as you send the Dongle in, no matter what condition Logic will send you a "new" one. Out of curiosity, did you have to take the dog for a walk and, well, you know... Hey, if an Elephant ate my Dongle... I'd be following it's big ass everywhere with a bucket and rubber gloves.

This is really a great Forum for 'Normal' Technical Problems... Your situation was the first, I think, about 'De Damn Dog Devoured De Dongle'. Reggae Beat. Don't give up on us.

"All problems get solved here or you can be sure to be directed where to go should if the problem is beyond the talent here. I am not one of the 'Talented Ones' I just happened to know about 'Broken Dongles'.

Toy Poodle or Great Dane?

Lorn 76... It's funny. Terrible but funny. Let us know what happened.
