Sorry - I was incorrect in saying you can't buy OSX-ready Logic yet - try audiomidi.com for starters.
And one more thing, Jeff: if your budget is $1K and you go the Edirol or Tascam route, you should have enough left over for an external firewire drive, which is highly recommended (that is, unless your "G4 with a huge hard drive" already includes an external one). I picked up an 80G OWC Mercury Elite for about $200. |
