Hi All!
I’d really appreciate some advice to help me find a product which will allow me to interface my PowerMac G5 (soon to be Mac Pro) with a state-of-the-art audiophile DAC, the EMM Labs DCC2 SE. The DAC performs at its best when fed PCM data over an ST optical cable, with wordclock over either a BNC terminated coax or a second ST optical cable. ST optical is my preferred option, and is also recommended by EMM Labs, though it is also be possible to use a Toslink connector for data. Are there any products on the market which use the ST optical interface for PCM data? I imagine that I will be looking for an external Firewire 400 or 800 product.
