hello, I just switched from pc to mac, and I "unfortunately" connected usb2 devices to the usb3 ports on my new mac mini, so how do I now reconfigre the usb ports back to usb3 speed again for my new usb3 devices? regards øivind jønland. http://en.440forums.com/forums/style_image...cons/icon14.gif

I thought it was all based on the cables and devices, once you are connecting to a USB 3 capable port. Are you sure everything is capable of doing superspeed?

hi again. I think I have some answers now. I seems to me that system information in the apple menu is not updating itself. Here are my result with the speed test on my 3 usb3 external disks: verbatim usb3 hdd : 30/60. (read/write as displayed on the large meters). ssd1 : 160/180. ssd2 : 170/185. all 3 were tested on usb1 port. system info still lists usbport1 as hi-speed.
so, I guess things work ok then, or am I missing something.? regards øivind.

if you have to reset ports, you must make a general rest of the computer. Procedures may vary and involve unplugging stuff and press the start button on the computers built for a few years now. You can find the exact procedure on Apple help database webstie. Search with your peculiar model, if it's a generic name (like Mac Mini), check the model issue date, it'll help. http://everymac.com/ may help you find it. Plus USB implementation is notoriously bad at Apple… And Not All USB Port Are MAde Equal! )
