what do you mean by the shade is long?

i think its about time us ipod DJs get this kind of hardware.
all we need now is for the ipod to support pitch changes and we are set.
any info on this feature?

There is a debate on the future format of the audio one. DVD Audio 24 bit, 192 Khz, Super Audio CD with DSD...etc. While the format that prevails is mp3 thanks to iPod mainly. It grows and grows... As far as technology, we evolved, but in quality of sound, we go back.
The shade of iPod every time is longer. Its economic benefits also. If we understand that the great companies move basically by money, I believe that we are going to live a dictatorship on cheap sound (mp3) by a time.

i see what you mean.
fortunately, i can rip music in any format i want, including lossless formats, and use my ipods with high quality audio.
consumers rule the consumer world.
as professionals we can choose the technologies out there and use them to our advantge, as we see fit.
ipod's shade is long. let's see where we can go with it...

I agree partly but as professional we did not control the growth of a format or another one. If what sells he is mp3, all we like or no, we must happen through that hoop. A quite narrow hoop. If the final sale is in mp3, all the chain of recording you could do it in mp3. All the 24 bit 96 Khz that you do, finally it will be put under the torture of mp3. If no, you do not sell.

I think your saying that the format of mp3 is low comapred to the high standards of profesional demands, i agree

we all struggled for years to improve what we do and its quality is most important, not the size or price in most cases.

its a laugh though, can you imagine how many kids who thin that they are djs judt because they have a iPod, yet they never sipned a single record or know the art of it all.

top that off, they usualy do not even know how to play a instrument or have had prior ear training as well.

Peace out

Hey,

I wanted to know if I can use this mixing console for 1 IPOD. The second deck would have a cd player hooked in. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Chase
