 "doubling" Problem With Monitoring |

I have a Powerbook running logic 7 LE and an m-audio firewire solo. When recording audio, I get a doubling effect whilst monitoring. I assume this is because I am hearing both the input and output signals with a small delay caused by processing time. How can I avoid this?
Also, am I going to find getting timing of recordings more accurate by monitoring the input signal, or the processed (post effects) output? Any help would be much appreciated  Bern |
