Hi there,

I worked with my G3, Logic 4.8 and OMS 2.3.8, Midisport 2x2 and it was oke. Now with my new Powerbook G4, MacOs 9.2 and OMS the trouble started. First I copied my setup from the G3, that didn't work (huge delay and no Midi in). Then I made a new setup with the same result or worse.
Does anyone has a clue what's wrong and is there a better Midi software solution for Logic (and Reason) without OMS or Freemidi ?

Greetings from Holland.

I should have consulted this forum about 6 hours ago. Earlier today, I received as a gift a Midiman oxygen 8 USB MIDI. It came with OMS and Keystation software (ugh), including updates. I had to restart my G4 (867) in 9.2.2 in order to get to OMS setup.  I thought I was homefree until I did the Test Studio routine.  I heard the 'MIDI received' message, but no chords. In fact, the flashing arrow was pointing 'away' from (instead of towards)the Keyboard icon.  Should I send it back  to Midiman? I would rather work in OS X, and since I am a novice when it comes to music, was wondering what I could get to replace the oxygen 8 (in the range of $200-$300). Thanks for your help.

I went through this exact same problem. It is not OMS. It is M-Audio.

The trick is the M-Audio MIDI drivers have to be loaded first (don't ask me why)

Remove all OMS files, restart, load MIDIman USB drivers and then load OMS.

That should do it.

I am using Logic Gold 4.8 w/MIDIman 2x2 and OMS with no problems, but it took a long time and a lot of searching to find the answer.

honestly guys.
you don't need to use oms! wink.gif
logic's environment will sort all this out for you if you spend the time with it.
obviously you need the m-audio drivers present in the system, but logic is more than capable of taking it from there. cool.gif
learn the environment and/or post me some questions. wink.gif
good luck (luck=labour under correct knowledge)...
