Mic Preamp For Mbox, any suggestions?

Rookie Groupe : Members Messages : 27 Inscrit : 14 janv. 04 Lieu : Vero Beach - US Membre n^o 33,201	I'm working with a Mbox (PowerBook G4 1Gig) and have found the mic preamps to be weak! I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of a good dual channel preamp that I could use with the Mbox. I would prefer something with tubes to add warmth. I'm not sure of budget restraints, but just for the fun of it let's say $200-$500. VM

Newbie Groupe : Members Messages : 6 Inscrit : 30 mai 07 Membre n^o 91,628	Does theMbox have S/Pdif input? If so I would recommend the Apogee minime. It's S/Pdif output, lovely Apogee A/D converters. You'll have a step up in preamp quality and you'll bypass the Mbox filthy converters too. You'll notice a huge difference immediately.
