What Software Do I Need?, notating from old recordings

Newbie Groupe : Members Messages : 2 Inscrit : 04 sept. 04 Lieu : Olivette - US Membre n^o 50,226	I'm doing a research project and I need to notate old songs and decifer the lyrics (which are in yiddish, some in russian), so slowing down tempo would help. I have Finale but it does not import the music files I have (the songs are all copied to iTunes) and if I try to hypersribe I get garbled notes which are mostly inaccurate. I don't want to invest in something and find out it doesn't do what I need, so any suggestions would be very appreciated. imac g4, 1 gb, 10.3.5, omnistudio usb, octava 319 mic, m-audio keystation 49e (yuk!. new keyboard on wish list too)
