With Apple taking over emagic, i've decided to take the plunge and switch from a pc to a mac.
With PCs, it always made sense to get a system built by audio specialists, but surely this isn't necessary with a Mac? Does anyone have a standard list of tweaks that I should make with extensions manager to optimise my system, or is it worth paying a premium to get an audio specialist supplier to do it for me? (I'll be running Logic 5 with a logic controller & a MOTU 2048) Thanks |

Go to Computer Music's webpage, there you'll find an article about making music on laptops which has a list of system extensions you should have on when using Logic Audio. If you first disable extensions advised by the article and only then install Logic, Logic controller and MOTU drivers then you'll automatically have what's needed.
This shouldn't be too hard anyway, if you keep a copy of the original settings to revert to, and of course you can always ask here if you're unsure about which extensions are needed or not... Good luck! ![]() |
