 Once upon a time, it was all running so smoothly...I'm reinstaling EVERYTHING and now my computer is acting up. I'm running cubase5.1r1 on my G4 with 350MHz and 896 mega bytes built-in. I'm new to having two hard drives, cubase is in the larger one, not the main one, as I intend to save all my music in there also. I instaled the delta 66 beta drivers and it seems to me this may be an extentions problem. Although I've tried eliminating different combinations and can find no cause. When I open Cubase, and the VST performance window, it is constantly blinking red, and only plays and records, on-off-on-off, and so on. I custom set my disk cache to 30016K and assigned more memory to Cubase in the finder. Still the same problem. Even swiching to the Apple sound manager and not the Delta ASIO, still, on-off-on-off-on-off. Awful. So what can I do? Has anyone had something similar? Is there a particular way to configure the extentions, or settings to fix this? That's it, thank-you to anyone who helps! - Zeb -------------------- Always watching...[I]

Thanks all yall who opted yer voice.
I'm back, baby! I did need to get older drivers for my audio card, (OS 8, ones) although I must say that the teck support from M-Audio was no help. They told me my system wasn't good enough for there product! Even after I'd said I've had it working fine before.  Next I followed the steps on a PDF about optimizing cubase, and found one important detail that was making my VST performance meter blink blink blink... it was my being set to look for the Ethernet connection! I'm always switching this connection between our PC and my Mac, and when I'm off line, the computer is always, looking looking looking!!! Go figure!I must say that Cubase does tax the CPU more than most app and is only pretty good for doing the little extras. I do perfer DP. I've also worked on DP's latest release, and found it VERY USER FRIENDLY. doing the audio editing on that bad boy makes right seance to me!
