live in a small apt, and usually am forced to do my audio werk in headphones most of the time so as to not disturb my flatmates. But whenever restarting my Power Mac g4 dual 1Ghz, it blasts that uber loud startup orchestral hit,,, you know the one?
*Bup Baaaaaaa!!!!* How the hell do I safely disable just that hellishly LOUD racket from my macs internal sound card or whatever? I DO have an M-audio delta series as my main audio card for all my music production, but also occassionally use the Mac's stock card for certain apps as well, so I do not what to totally disable that card,, Just somehow tweek the firmware or whatever that's responsible for that startup blast that's waking the dead. any ideas on this one? |

Yes, this start-up sound is annoying, but not nearly as much as the "boink" sound heard when adjusting the main output volume in the control strip. I use Adaptec Toast and there is a bad one in there too. Can't find to "off" switch for any of 'em.
