Do you know if the new Firewire iPod 40 Gig would work as well as a 7200rpm external HD??
Apple says the iPod plays these files: AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible, AIFF, Apple lossless and WAV ..and Apple is promoting the iPod as a HD to transport files. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks sounds2me |

mhmmm it's a small drive with low power consumption, don't ask him to be fast too
 As for the drive out of an iPod used in a PCM slot, yes, some bought iPod only for that (less expensive than the Dive alone from other sources). Are you planing to use your iPod as your external HD ? You can but it's not to be used exactly as your average HD. But to move files around it can sure help. For recording, the iRiver is to look after also.
