Do you know if the new Firewire iPod 40 Gig would work as well as a 7200rpm external HD??

Apple says the iPod plays these files:
AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible, AIFF, Apple lossless and WAV

..and Apple is promoting the iPod as a HD to transport files.

I would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Hi! guys..

I heard of a very, very interesting idea. If not just curious!.. my cousin who's a pc/apple quite expert kind a guy, told me that one of his clients bought an Ipod and had some problems on the screen or something, so then they opened it, took the hard disk from the ipod out, and now his client is using this "hard disk" in the PCM slot!!!! So, this guy is having a 40Gb Hard disk on his wallet!!...

How about that!?
Best,
Dustan
