First NEVER NEVER NEVER auto update. Second it's one of the bugs of 10.2.8, which is no longer available. (USB and ethernet going bonkers) third you should revert to 10.2.6 really the reason behind this is Apple did the update without sending it before to outside developers as usual, these devs are already on Panther from the last WWDC in june and are bound to it to use peculiar developement tools that run only on panther. So anyway they couldn't have worked and try 10.2.8. Now, you could have reverted "easily" to 10.2.6 if you had made a snapshot of it once installed with one of the utilities available in shareware (sorry, it's 6:50 am and my brain is not working 100% to give the name, someone?)
