Hi everyone..
I'm a beginner into DAW and doing my sound enginnering in India.Im so lost how to setup a Mac based DAW coz everyone is using PC coz its more cost effective here.I'm not sure what mac to buy?I mac or Power Mac... I macs are looking very cost effective but im not sure if its going to be useful to me... i have no clue what soundcard to use and how can i get the inputs? whether i can go for MOTU or get one of the 002 box...Im basically using cubase, protools and also reason... Please help me with the complete setup....Thanks for the same... VJ |

I don't blame you for holding off on the G5. So far I've heard nothing but good about them, still I think I'll give it a bit more time before jumping in! Yes, you will be able to connect a mixer into the 828. If I'm not mistaken the 828 will allow for 8 chanels. Of cource you will need to choose a program that will also handle the 8 chanels (should mention something about 8 bus capability). You may want to also concider getting a multi bus mixer, so that you can utilize the full cababilities of you setup. That is if you plan on recording up to 8 tracks at a time (simultainiously), if not it won't matter. The G4 you speek of should exceed any expectations you may have, coupled with the 1 gb ram there should be few road blocks (if any).
