Hi there.

I am a musician trying to get into MIDI, sequencing, techno-y stuff. I've played sax since I was 10 and the piano since I was 8. I own gear, the mac, software and a digital audio workstation but I can not seem to figure out how to incorporate it all together to make some music. I've read Basic Midi by Paul White. I have tried to read posts in MIDI forums. I just don't get it. sad.gif

Please help. I can post what my gear is and perhaps someone can tell me how I can get it to all work together and then I won't feel so frustrated.

try uing just one piece of gear at a time and getting midi to work......... smile.gif

some basic facts:

midi in goes to midi out
and midi out goes to midi in

this is how your keyboard is routed to the usb 2 midi

***make sure you have OMS and it recognises your keyboard and USB 2midi
***make sure you have a usb cable running from your USB 2 midi port

you should see a flashing light on your usb2midi when you strike your keyboard

press record on your sequencer and play some notes on the keyboard

if you get midi data (lines in the track window) and you can hear what you played in
then midi is working

KISS= keep it simple stupid!!...........nothing personal- just a general statement!!
