Does anyone know how to record a software synth running on the same mac as the recording software? In my case, I am using Studio Vision on an iMac and would like to record to disk rather than use midi. The only way I have been able to do this is by routing the iMac's output to a mixer and then routing the mixer back to the iMac's input. In Studion Vision I would then select the External Mic input to record from. While this works, it creates latency problems and I am sure that there is a better way. Thanks...

This sounds exactly like what I am looking for. It may also solve another situation where I would like to record sounds from programs that don't have a midi interface e.g. spongefork.
