Are there any VST or MAS plug-ins for eq-ing audio downloaded from audio cassettes to filter the tape hiss, etc.?
I am using PeakDV and AudioDesk. |

If you like Peak, Bias (http://www.bias-inc.com/) has a rather new product called SoundSoap. This is what it does (copied from the Bias website):
• Removes unwanted hiss, background noise, room noise, rumble, and 50 & 60Hz hum • "Learn" feature allows creation of user presets for various types of noise • Requires no understanding of complicated digital signal processing • SoundSoap is a native (CPU powered) plug-in - no additional hardware required! • With only two knobs, anyone can use Sound Soap! There is also Ray Gun from Arboretum Systems. I run an RTAS version of it, but I think it's also available as VST. It's a nice plug, but as we all know, you can never remove noise without loosing something in the process (quoting from Damann: "garbage in - garbage out"). |
