I 'm running ProTools LE with an MBox on a 466 G4. Sometimes when I'm mixing a session or worse, when in the middle of recording, I get this horrible crackling noise, the song freezes, and I get an error message stating I need to increase my USB Buffer size. I DID THIS, BUT IT DIDN'T HELP! AAAAHHH! It also says for me to delete tracks and/or turn off some effects, but that's absurd! Those actions would be contradictory to the purpose of recording itself, WHat the HELL?!?! It will even do this after I only had TWO tracks running and NO effects at all! I don't get it, and I'm about to throw my MBox through my new 17 inch monitor. UGH!

You must be fuming. I tend to agree with Levon.
Still, I wonder if somethings amiss with the usb connection. Have you tried another usb cable? Usb extension conflict? Just a hunch as I have already heard that crackle (I've been trying to get it again with my Mbox but to no avail yet). I like Synthetics suggestion ("Digi001 and Quicksilver..." forum): Make a "Music Set" in your extension manager with OS9 basic + PT stuff only. If it works then add any other music stuff you want. I know music apps don't like competition. Not related to your problem - but remember you don't need the DigiStudio stuff I've just posted a translation of your problem on the French side, so if you can hold back for a few days from booking into the mental asylum, or throwing the Mbox at the salesman, we might get a solution. -------------------- Without shit, we wouldn't be here ;)
