If you record a song using a Garage Band loop, and try to commercialise (ie send it to record companies as a demo) it, are there difficulties with copyright?

Loops provided in commercially and widely available applications are royalty-free almost 100% of the time - in other words, you can use them for whatever you like. What you usually can't do is create new sample libraries from the supplied loops etc and then sell them, passing the work off as your own original collection.
Musicians often tend to alter the bundled loops in some way because it's more rewarding, artistically. But if it fits your tune as is, why worry? |
