Using garageband for now - but also have Logic Pro. Not entirely satisfied with the choice of software instruments available! ie: there's seriously nowhere near enough for what I want to do! Any suggestions of where I can get some more ay minimal cost? Cheers

Yeah, take a closer look at the instruments, they are totally tweakable. You can experiment and create your own.
Don't be dependent on presets.
