I have an ibook os X and need the firewire interface for a hard drive. It's only me recording one thing at a time so don't need a lot of inputs going at once.
Can any recommend a single interface box that includes the following: xlr with phantom power instrument input for guitar and keyboards midi input If you can recommend something that you use that has all these features and works well. . .thanks! |

FireWire interfaces like Focusrite's Saffire, PreSonus' FireBox and MOTU's 828 have two firewire sockets, so you can chain your hard drive from one of these interfaces. That's precisely why such a feature exists on these products. More expensive than USB alternatives, mind, but also much more suitable for tracking audio.
