Hey guys,

I just picked up an iMac to begin my conversion to the Mac Clan. I'm also want to start recording and sequencing songs. I have garageband, but since it's the basic version, all I can do is do piano sounds and record from my PODxt. Is it worth it to get the expansion packs so I can take advantage of garageband, or should I opt for Logic Express. I'm really new to this stuff, and really want to start learning how to compose and record on my Mac.

Thanks in advance

If your iMac is brand new, you should have come with iLife 2005. That includes Garageband 2.0 which is hardly a basic version. I'd suggest exploring the program in more detail and you'll find a lot more than piano sounds.....
