i think once the new Tiger comes out i'll upgrade my G4 867 (sp) to a G5, probably, by that time the dual 2.0 will be the low-end (for the duals). My current set-up consists of the old Echo Mia (not miamidi, not PCI-X) & a Mackie 1402 analogue mixer. I don't need all the channels with my mixer, I really just bought cause it was a great deal (since i record solo, i only really need one or two inputs at a time).
So... Echo will trade me the new EchoMiaMidi for my card + $100USD... in your opinion, would it be worth it to try and sell my Mackie & Mia & put the $$ towards a firewire, or go ahead witht the upgrade... or get the dual 1.8 (reg PCI slots)???? not a big dilemma by any means, but would appreciate some input nonetheless... thanks, d |

I have the RME fireface 800 and the sound quality, flexiblity, and driver set can not be beat for the price. The Converters are amazing and the drivers are ultra low latency. I couldnt be happier with it.
