I'm on a g4, 350MHz, and running cubase 5.0. I'm having a problem with the computer lagging- cutting in and out. This happens when I start adding more trackes (up to 12 or so) and if I put any real time dynamic processing on them. (Even 4 or 5.) Of course reverb does the same thing, and that's a problem too, come final mix time. What I'm wondering is, how do I solve it, (without having to get a new computer?) Do I need more processing power? Do you know PRICES or DEALERS??

You have to realize your computer have limited resources and use those to the max. Our first project was written on a powermac 7300 with a G3 upgrade card, so I know this is possible. Of course, I used loads of outboard gear and an external desk with it... If you know that every instrument or processor takes CPU , you simply need to take that into account and think as you write/mix. I used to bounce down several track to stereo (i.e 8 backing vocals, guitar tracks etc..) good luck Danny -------------------- Recording engineer and producer...
