De 66 ( avec david allen et pûis kevin ayers ...) jusqu'"a "Moon in june "... allons, on va dire jusqu'au depart de Robert Wyatt ..
Non ... c'était inventif , dada, puissant, emouvant ... c'est devenu une soupe sans sel a base de jazzrock baveux quand dean et Hopper ont pris le pouvoir ....
mais les deux premiers albums , ha la la ! jusqu'au 4 encore ! allez !

Tout à fait d'accord avec toi, mais après le départ d'elton dean (fin 72),
je trouve qu'il y a eu quand même des choses intéressantes avec allan holdworth ou john etheridge.
quand à hugh hopper, ce qu'il a réalisé avec allan gowen n'est pas mal du tout (two raindows daily)et ces albums solos sont intéressants.

Double CD of Soft's oddities inc rare early Daevid Allen

Daevid appears on 3 tracks on this double CD of Soft Machine rarities and oddities Track 2, which dates from 1963, is the Daevid Allen Trio Band live in London and is one of the earliest pre Soft Machine recordings around. It was originally included on the deleted 'Live 1963' CD and is a strange and illuminating slice of what was to follow and one of the longest tracks on the release. Daevid also pops up on tracks 7 and 8 in the '66-'67 first Soft Machine line-up.

The rest of the tracks are mostly live recordings of various pre '71 Softs. Tracks 1-10 are the 1969 Paradiso gig, 11-12 from 'Europe 1970' and 13-16 from Croydon in April 1970. The interesting liner notes are by Brian Hooper, who knows coz he was there.

One other non Daevid track of interest to non-Machine aficionados is 'Hope For Happiness' which the University of Errors have been covering so well on gigs - well worth checking out this original.

Je valide la période Holdworth chez soft qui est plus qu'intéressante (de très bon solos de Holdworth quasi aussi bon que ceux qu'il fait chez Gong "gazeuse" et "expresso II") : voir notamment "Bundles" de Soft

Je valide également la période john Etheridge chez Soft (guitariste modeste et brillant) avec la présence de Marschall au dms qui était très bon. Le concert enregistré du Palace (où j'était en juillet...) "Well and alive"

Bien sûr c'est un autre Soft ! autre que celui de Wyatt au dms. Mais celui là même Wyatt ne s'en souviens plus. Il ne veux plus s'en souvenir...

Les disques avec Allan Gowen sont des MUST : two raindows daily, mais également "rogue élement" (avec Elton dean)et "Gilgamesh"...également et "cruel but Fair" (mais sans Gowen) Gowen au fender Rhode était un musicien très fin. Peace à son âme.

J'ai mis du temps... Je viens de l'acheter ce soir à la Fnac, c'est un excellent disque .
Grand plaisir dès la première écoute. Holdsworth est excellent tant en rythmique qu'en solo. Plaisir de retrouver les lignes de basses binaires de Hopper. Dean domine fortement le disque dans un style très mélodique et
accessible. Marshall très clean. A réécouter très vite
