i've got a problem with my sound output... itunes and all my music/audio software uses my echo mia sound card, but safari (and i.e.) as well as software cd's use the built-in sound... my preferences have my mia as my output, but no matter what, these two things keep using the mac speaker... any suggestions? i just did a clean install to bring me back to 10.3.2 since i did some research and found that others had similar problems with 10.3.5, but the problem persists... thanks for all your help.

Perhaps trash the mac and echo prefs and try again. Is there a coreaudio codec for the echo as with digidesign stuff?
