I would suggest you will have no problems with the new i-mac, motu & logic, since you only have firewire connections. And the power of the i-mac is amazing, so you will be able to manage quite a few plugins.
with the tower you have the opportunity of pci-slots where you can add for example a scsicard or a dual-graphiccard. and maybe upgrading your RAMpower will be a bit more easy.
