 M-audio Firewire Vs Mbox, which interface |

I am currently using a g4 powerbook with an mbox and experience latency when recording guitars with amplitube or guitar rig this means i have to record the guitar dry every time and add the amp fx later.
will there be a shorter latency during recording if i bought a firewire interface such as the m-audio ? |
