mail de Cyclone Micro System:
Thank you for your continued interest in our Expansion products. I am sorry for the delay, we were all on holiday yesterday in honor/memorial of our military veterans.
Yes the UAD-2 boards are compatible and you can mix UAD-1 and UAD-2 in a system. Audio bandwidths are quite small (but latency sensitive) compared to the capacities of the Expansion systems.
http://www.apple.com/macpro/specs.htmlPCI Express expansion
Three open full-length PCI Express expansion slots5
One PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot
Two PCI Express 2.0 x4 slots
All slots provide mechanical support for 16-lane cards
300W combined maximum for all PCI Express slots
If you plug the Cyclone HBA into the x16 slot, you can use the 2705 System. If you plug the Cyclone into the x4 slot, you need the 2704 system.
We look forward to working with you on your requirements.
Regards,
Peter
et réponse du support UA:
Hello,
I do not have any official test data for the UAD2 and external chassis. The UAD testing engineers have said that if your UAD1e card works in your current chassis then it is very likely that it should work fine with the UAD2. The UAD drivers support a maximum of 4 UAD1 and 4 UAD2 cards in one computer.
The only information I have on Mac hardware would be that the G5 Quad systems have PCI-Express slots. You will need to contact Apple support for specifics on the hardware in their systems.
Regards,
Dan Becker
