I'm using OSX 10.3.9 on an iBook G4 with m-audio firewire 410 and Plogue Bidule with Acousmodules AU and VST plugins to produce 5.1 surround sound aiff or wav files either as multi-mono or single aiff/wavex files. I can play these files back using bidule plugins, but I want to produce dolby digital DTS encoded files to play through my home cinema system using the S/PDIF output on the firewire 410.

Is there software available for this?

I have Quicktime pro 7 which can play the DTS files but not convert from wavex etc.

What DAW are you using? Digital Performer, Logic Pro, Nuendo, and Bias Deck, can produce the file type used surround encoding.

For the actual encoding take a look at this http://www.discwelder.com/ it's the cheapest encoder I've found so far.

Thanks gdoubleyou. I'm just using Bidule and AU/VST plugins: it's great!

I've followed your link to discwelder: looks like I'll be forking out $99.
