...by adding 1gig to my 512? (esp as it won't be Apple RAM - it's too expensive).
Or should I go for 2 gig cheap stuff?
thanks

- The more, the better
- look on other threads for the counsels on RAM.
Macs are su…ers on the RAM quality!!!

Thanks for the reply,
I did a search on 'upgrade RAM' and it came up with a solitary post by someone who had unsuccessfully tried to install two different types - not very encouraging.
However,
Apple do 1 gig for £359 (inc educational discount!) and an Apple reseller in town have just offered me Danelec 1 gig for £189, they use it in all their machines - think I'll give that a go.
thanks again

£189 for 1gb SO-DIMM? Doesn't sound too bad...
I'd like to know what the difference is, what does the extra £170 buy you with Apple?

A ram search it's on "more ram", ""apple ram" only returns one thread, but there ARE quite a few dedicated threads around
(ram itself won't work as it's a 3 letter word and the search engine doesn't like it at all
