This is my first post. Since I am new to OS X, please treat my question as you would a newbie. Just found out about this website today. I have just upgraded to a G5 and use DP 4.12 as well as Finale. I went to do work on Finale yesterday and it seems the computer did not recognize my synths.

I thought I had Audio MIDI setup correctly set, and I use a simple system. USB Fastlane with an Alesis Nanosynth on one port and an Ensoniq SQ-1 on the other port.

The problem I get when I check connections in AUDIO MIDI Setup is a huge, crashing sound, as if all MIDI channels are responding simultaneously. Also, when I try to run DP 4.12, I can set things up, but as soon as I hit play, the software closes down.

I assume these two items are related. Anyone have any suggestions? I went to MOTU to download the most recent Fastlane driver, but that did not seem to solve the problem unless I am supposed to delete some file hidden deep within the structure of my computer.

Thanks,
Clive
