Couldn't think of an acceptable title for this post, hope it's sufficient!
This weekend I recorded some music from a sound source not typical to a music studio - a Sega Dreamcast. After a great deal of rewiring cables and tweaking of knobs, I managed to get a signal into my Tascam US-122, but when I went to record the audio into DP 4.12 the sound wasn't reaching the software (I did set my Sound Input Preferences to the US-122) I did manage to get a recording using Audio Hijack Pro but DP and Pro Tools free couldn't get a signal. Now that I'm thinking about it, is an Aux track needed? This is my first time using a different sound source in this manner. The Dreamcast uses RCA outs so I had to route that through my mixer and into my US-122. Any thoughts or slaps in the face? |

Pro Tools Free will not work in classic mode, it cannot directly control hardware. You would have to have a machine that can boot OS9 to use it.
In DP you have to choose the driver for your hardware in the audio hardware setup. Then you have to configure the audio bundle, to access the I/O. -------------------- G-Dub

Funny you should post this now because I JUST figured that out yesterday That also answers why I was getting the "audio is too fragmented to be played by PT" error too
As for the DP...it was an act of complete stupidity...I didn't see that some of my 1/4" cables were in the wrong outs Thanks! |
