Hi Nels. I've purchased alot of items, large and small from Musicians Friend. They are prompt in shipment, and take items back with no problem if you find the gear isn't what you want. Their prices are good. So I highly recommend them. I've also bought at Music123.com and SameDayMusic.com. Both are good too.

I agree! Music123.com and Musicians Friend have had the best prices and service that I've found...
Sweetwater and Roxymusic.com iare just toooo expensive!. Granted they have anything and everything you could want, but price is the killer there!

I've used Musician's Friend, Music123, ZZounds and they all have about the same prices and the same shipping charges. I like KraftMusic for synthesizer stuff - they were nice and friendly and got me some fair bundled deals - the bigger sites wouldn't even consider it when I mailed them.

I'd be careful buying guitars and acoustic instruments online though - they tend to vary more than the electronics. Also, if a guitar messes up, chances are there's somebody in the music store who can fix it for you. If it's electronics, it'll just go somewhere else for warranty repairs, and you can do that almost as easily as the store can.

As for the synthesizers you discuss, they're all good. I'd really look at the Triton Extreme. USB connectivity and being able to put a Microdrive in it seems really convenient. It doesn't seem to have an mLAN option, but as long as you can use SPDIF, the sound quality will still be good.

If you're buyin' something you know that will sound like you want , like keyboard or synth , or if you're buyin' recordig gear , I think you can be sure of internet stores . You can save some money on on shoppin' this way , and always have gear you want to buy . But beware of buyin' instruments like guitars etc.. unless it's a limited edition , and you won't get in in store . You got to check a thing like that before spendin' money
