Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has heard of MOTU Performer, the sequencing software? Good/Bad? I know that there is DP but is this the same. When I went to the Sweetwater.com website they had it but when I went to Musiciansfriend or even MOTU's web page it was not listed...I am looking for a soft sequencer that will compliment my Digi 002/ Mach Five, G5 set-up. Thanks
Loki

Go to their website, click on Products, then Software, and you'll find it.

DP is Digital Performer with the emphasis on "digital". Just plain "Performer" is a much earlier version with outdated features. This, however, would work well if you have a Mac that is quite a few years old and was made at that same time period.

As well as MIDI tracks, Performer 6 will allow you to record up to eight audio tracks when it's installed on a PowerMac or better.

Thanks everyone. I thought performer was just an older version of Digital Performer. I am actually looking for a software sequencer not a recording app. I already have Pro Tools (Digi002).
I appreciate all the feedback though!

Performer is totaly outdated, go for Digital Performer, an excellent and versatile audio workstation that will allow you to combine unlimited MIDI and audio tracks, (limited only by your computer power). It works perfectly with MachFive which is also a MOTU product.

Digitail Performer will work with your digi 02. A lot of people use Dp with TDM rigs as well. DP has one of the best sequencers out there. DP4 runs on Osx. Your sound and midi can be worked on in the same window as well. DP4 is easy to use and fast to learn.

Thanks for the info guys, but I may have asked the question in the wrong manner. What I am really looking for is a software sequencer that has the same capabilities as an MPC 2000, Fruity Loops, and the likes of those. I am very happy with my Pro Tools, but what I really need is some good drum sequencing, as well as being able to sample (which for the most part I do with the Mach Five). If I can't find a soft sequencer I just might have to buy me an older Pc to run Fruity Loops on. Fruity Loops is one of the best sequencers out there unfortunately they do not have a MAC edition. Thanks guys! Keep Rockin!
