I've been mastering songs onto my G5 using Spark xl. But when it comes to playing them back on any audio software (various media players and CD buring previews) the tempo has slowed down by about 10%. Its slowly driving me mad. Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

What sample rate are your files?
I am guessing it's a 44.1/48kHz issue. Also are you using any external sync source for your sound card? |

Hello formatj
Yes, i was routing the analogue signal in to a TC electronic finaliser and then coming out optically into the G5. The 'sync from' setting on the finaliser was at 44.1. Should i change it to 48 ? thanks Ce message a été modifié par bimmberly - jeu. 4 mars 2004, 12:21. |

What sample rate are you using for your audio files 44.1 or 48KHz?
In Spark what is the sample rate showing on the top left of your transport bar? What happens if you do change the sample rate to 48kHz on the finaliser? |

Hi
i checked the preferences and stupid me the clock was on external instead of internal. That seems to have sorted it out. Thanks sorry 4 wasting your time. |

posted this and then saw all the other replies so here's my reply anyway....glad u got it sorted
are u using an external clock for digital synching? if so is it still set to the same sample rate? are your sample rates constant or are u telling the software program it's one rate when the files are actually another? e.g. if your session was recorded at 48kHz and you play it back synched to a 44.1kHz clock then it will play back about 10% slower. hope these questions help you find an answer...bjkiwi Ce message a été modifié par bjkiwi - ven. 5 mars 2004, 02:43. |
