Real Time Audio Recorder, where do i get one? Options

so im looking for something that's going to record internal audio as it goes on inside my computer..


not streaming audio per say.. but as if you were recording whatever audio was happening on my computer. i tried a couple programs, but they only sources available to them were the internal modem (records static and stuff), the built in mic, and the line in. none of these things (to the best of my knoledge) are going to record what i need it to records. a few years ago a friend of mine had a program (what i don't remember) on his PC that recorded internal audio. This kind of technology would allow you to record the audio that's going on from say a live concert dvd playing on your computer... not by ripping the audio but by recording it in real time. and the quality sounds like it was taken from cd or something. if anyone can help.. awesome.

i have looked at this product before..

the only problem is that im running os 9 (not os x, which this program requires)

What you could do in that case, is use the internal mic and turn up the speakers. Although it sounds like crap, haha, it works. Sorry, you've probably already tried that. But I've recorded audio playing from my PowerBook speakers in this way.

I was going to recommend WireTap, as well.

OR, if you have a line-in on your computer, headphone port, and cable to connect the two, you could record the headphone output. I haven't tried that, but it should work and give you significantly better quality than the speaker method.
