Take a look at http://www.jackosx.com/

I have read many good things about Jack in the Linux world. It is a young piece of software but seems to have a lot of promise. I installed it yesterday but have yet to use it. If you use it let me know how it works...

Here's some info from the website...

Jack (the Jack Audio Connection Kit) is a low-latency audio server, written originally for the GNU/Linux operating system, and now with Mac OS X support. It can connect any number of different applications to a single hardware audio device; it also allows applications to send and receive audio to and from each other.

Jack is different from other audio server efforts in that it has been designed from the ground up to be suitable for professional audio work. This means that it focuses on two key areas: synchronous execution of all clients, and low latency operation.

Hi, sorry of my english
First you need to open a project in Cubase, then enable
rewire inputs, and then open Reason.
To close all, you need to do in the oposite way.

Hy, sorry 4 my english too... I'll try to do my best...
What manso said is absolutely right... and there's something else (a lot, but I can't say more than this yet...)
1 Open Cubase
2 Open reason
3 In cubase go to devices-Reason to open rewire control window
4 Click the green bars on the top to activate stereo inputs of R in C
This way the mixer of Reason is linked to Cubase, and everything that goes thru it...
but:
if you go back to Reason and press "tab" and do the following U can link all the instrument U want to C from R in a separate way... so U can aply the effect and EQ or any VST that C offers to the instrument of Reason... even to them with an effect of reason as well..
simply take the leads of the instrument that goes to the mixer in R and plug then in the channels above (audio in, hardware inteface)... if U plug one inst. L and R leads to channel 3 and 4 and then go to cubase , activate channels 3 and 4... and go to project- add track- group channel, and select 3 and 4 and you will have just one chanel-but Stereo-. With subtractor use just one because it is mono.

I took this from a guide to reason on the Music tech Magazine from January, because I'm going through the same that U are right now...
Hope to be a help.
Good Luck. Enjoy.

you should ignore that jackosx.com post and follow the instructions here or in your cubase manual for using "Rewire", which is something you activate in Cubase that lets it listen to Reason while reason is running in the background.

When you hit the Tab key to see the back of your Reason rack, the top rack unit that just looks like a simple patchbay is a group of outputs that you can use to monitor any instruments or mixers from Reason to Cubase. Rewire is something you just set up once and it'll be there among your Cubase inputs after that.
