Hey all,
I'm a med student who dabbles in rock piano/lead vocals with some of my classmates, and I'm interested in making some one-man-bandish recordings. I have a midi controller keyboard, and a G5 tower. I used to own Logic Platinum but sold it after 1) it proved to be way more than I needed, and 2) I didn't have the time to master the program. Right now, I own DP4 and I'm looking for some sampler/synth software to use with my G5. I've only recorded with actual instruments before, never with software-generated sounds. Can you recommend some software that will play nice with DP4 and allow me to use my MIDI controller to record some rock songs (think Peter Gabriel/U2 type stuff)? I don't think loop software is necessarily what I'm looking for, more like actual instrument sounds that I can play myself. Thanks very much! |

Two things:
First, Mach Five by Motu for your sampler. Same software company. They should both speak to each other easily. Another fine sampler is Kontakt by Native Instruments. Second, the www.unicornation.com site. This site is dedicated to MotU users. Lots of help on everything MotU. Also, I think you'd get a kick out of using Reason too. Tons of instruments and sounds. It also happens to sport TWO samplers! VERY easy to use and works seamlessly with Digital Performer. Good luck! |
