I've been looking for cheap (i.e. under $100) MIDI sequencing software, and ran across Master Tracks Pro the other day. I downloaded the demo version, and have been trying to get it working. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but here's what I'd LIKE to do:
Using MT Pro as the sequencer, I'd like to be able to send the MIDI information to a soft synth. I've been using Rax to "host" the synth (Green Oak - Crystal), and I was kind of assuming (in my little ideal world), that if I had MT Pro running, it would show up as MIDI source in Rax. No such luck. I've also tried using a little program called Midikeys in conjunction with Rax and MT Pro. When I'm running Midikeys, it shows up as a destination in MT Pro, but I still can't get any MIDI information forwarded to the soft synth. So, basically I'm wondering what exactly I need to do to get this working (it SEEMS like a fairly simple enough thing to do).. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul Powermac G4/800 MHz OS 10.3.1 |

Use Metro SE. It supports loading crystal and other softsynth VST's and AU's directly for under $70. Check it out!

Metro SE doesn't quite do what I want it to do... The FULL version of Metro seems reasonable, except for the $319 price tag. I just can't afford to pay that much.
Any other thoughts anyone? |
