wink.gif I have a G3 computer ,upgraded to G4. I am running Jaguar. I recently installed Cubase SX,which I use with Reason 2.5 and all the necessary progammes and drivers for my complete set up. Including all drivers for my Evolution -249c keyboard.
Everything was working fine until I started up in OS9,to try and sort out a few Recycle problems. When I restarted in OSX I can't play anything through my Evolution keyboard. All the programmes recognise the keyboard is there ,but nothing will come through it. The multi display does not light up,so I know it's not working.
When I open my OMS set up it says it can't locate the OMS driver.
I've looked for OMS drivers for OSX and they don't exist. I've tried reinstalling the OMS drivers I have (the OS9 drivers, which I presume do work in OSX as it was all working fine previously) but it tells me they are already there. And there is a driver in my extensions folder. Can anybody tell me whats happened and if I'm doing anything wrong.BTW i've reinstalled the drivers for both my keyboard and my soundcard-Audiophile 2496.But that didn''t make any difference.
I'm at a complete loss as to whats gone wrong. Can anyone shed some light on this ,please!!
Cheers
Robski

well... just to let you know... there is no OMS drivers in OSX... OSX.2+ has its own midi routing built-in to the core so OMS plays no part really in OSX.

In OS9 try a new config of OMS from scratch after trashing the preferences. If it dosen't want to hear something, trash drivers and preferences of OMS AND the midi interface, and reinstall first OMS THEN the interface.
Retry if it su**s

In OSX, have a look in Audio MIDI setup, in /application/Utilities it's where almost all audio and where all MIDI is configured in OSX

Thanks guys.
Very strange ,but everything is now working ok again. After a few restarts and a few reinstalls here and there.
There seems to be a slight issue with my midi keyboard though.every now and then on start up, I have to take out the usb lead and plug it back i and then it works again. Not sure why it's doing this.
But,at least it's working.Although I'm a bit aprehensive about starting up in OS9 again.
Soon as I get my hands on the new Recycle for OSX,I think I'll get rid of classic.
Cheers

If you have a USB hub… try some direct connection if the problem comes back.

Check also your mains… a defective electricity supply (peaks, too high or too low voltages, noise etc) can bring some real issues… My own USB hub (a real crap it is) is way better now I have a UPS online .

The switching back and forth 9/X can be an issue, but it's usually related to system "missing" on start up which can be addressed easily (option/alt on start up or install CD in and re-choose the start up disk, it su**s but it works)
