Hi guys!
Finally I uploaded my operation system to OSX....Jaguar. Then I had to upgrade Logic too so I have just uploaded Logic 6.2. It all looks good but I can't hear a thing. I have upgraded the Motu driver and it is there, I imported one of my songs from "old" Logic, imported the keykommands and it looks good but I hear no sound whatsoever!! What have I forgot to do...?I sure hope nothing is wrong now after spending an entire day upgrading stuff... Pleazzze, anyone have any tips...? I seem to have lost my singing smilie too ( Is it the forum or Netscape 7....? -------------------- "It said Windows 2000 or better on the box, so I bought a Mac"

How old was your previous version of Logic and the Mac OS? I've never had to import an old Logic song into 5 or 6, but something I've read soimewhere tells me that it's not a straightforward process.
Can you see anything happening on screen? Is the MOTU device selected in Logic? Is it selected as the main in/out device in Audio/MIDI Setup, which is in the Utilities folder in Applications? Can you hear, say, iTunes through the 828? Is there any activity on the front of the 828? Which 828 driver did you download? There's a new Panther one that also works with Jaguar - just make sure you install the "original" 828 driver, not the MKII driver. I think it's 1.07 or something. Also, why not download Logic 6.3 as well? You'll also get to try the awesome Space Designer reverb for 30 days then. Wow. Finally, what's with Netscape? Safari is much nicer! |

Hi!
I can hear iTunes through the MOTU and the MOTU is selected....I am wondering about core audio...? Do I need that put on...? Do I not need as ASIO driver anymore...? If so,....where can I find it....seems to be just demo versions out now.... No there is no activity in the front of the MOTU. My old songs had an ASIO dev. I downloaded the right verson of the MOTU. I am getting really frustrated now and I am thinking of throwing OSX away and go back to my old, but nicely working Logic 4,8.... Yeah, maybe I should start using Safari....everything is a mess now -------------------- "It said Windows 2000 or better on the box, so I bought a Mac"

Have you chosen MOTU as your core audio driver in logic?
Audio>Audio Hardware and Drivers Make sure Core Audio is checked and MOTU is the selected driver. ASIO does not exist in OS X. When you select the core audio driver Logic should prompt you to change devices of any old songs next time you open them which used ASIO as driver. If not you will need to manually change all your audio objects. Select them all in the audio layer of the environment and change the "Dev" from ASIO to CoAu. Also download version 6.3.1 of Logic. |

Done all that, but I get no sign of audio in the MOTU in and out and not on the faders either....It is so weird... The faders should indicate that there is an audio track playing.
I guess I have to download the 6.3 version then.... It is such a confort to have you guys in here that I can ask stupid and not so stupid quetions -------------------- "It said Windows 2000 or better on the box, so I bought a Mac"
