[COLOR=blue][COLOR=blue][COLOR=blue]I've just upgraded from Logic 4.8 to 5.5 and I haven't deinstalled 4.8 because I don't know how to on a mac.

When I double click on a song file that I created using my new version 5.5, my mac tries to open version 4.8 but of course fails because it can't find those two black boxes I had to send back to Emagic in order to get my registration code.

Another thing is that I can open a logic song in version 5.5 which I created with 5.5 as soon as I open the program BUT if I attempt to open any other song, regardless of whether I created that song with 5.5 or with 4.8, the "Try To Save Your Song" window opens and the program closes. SO everytime I want to go to another song I have to close Logic and reopen it.

Can anyone help me?

thx

You can right click on the file itself and a contextual menu will show "open with" which will let you choose either version 4.8 or 5.5. Click your highlighted choice and enjoy the ride.
You can also open Logic 5.5 first, then use the top menu bar where it says "File". Highlight open. A finder window appears, then locate your file. Click your choice.
Files may need to be imported into 5.5. so they can dressed for the progressive version. Go to top menu. Click "File". Highlight "Import" and click. Finder window appears. Locate your file. choose.

Try rebuilding your desktop. This should fix the problem.

Hold down "command (apple) and option" keys when restarting your computer.
