I am about to have a very similar setup. I have a 17" G4 P.Book, gig of ram. Got Soundtrack and Reason, and am about to get the 828mkII. I'm going with the 828 because it's cheaper and has unbalanced outs so I can put it into my home stereo for realistic mix evaluation. With a couple Blue Tubes I'll have 6 XLR ins for audio, not as nice as 8 but good enough. I plan on using Audiodesk, will prolly get the A.D.2 upgrade for $150, supports ACID loops... How do you like the 896? Are you using an external hard drive or the internal? I am trying to figure this out; my internal HD runs at 4200rpm - sloooooooooooow.......... GoodLuck! PieCe, JAMES |
