 Motu 828 & 2408, Can I combine these two? |

Hi there! Has anyone ever tried to use a Motu 828 and a 2408 at once? Is it possible? I want all 2x8 analog inputs and I thought that I've been reading this a while ago somewhere!?

In theory there's no reason you can't… practically… I tried a search but to no avail.
Wouldn't it be more efficient to have 2X828 or the 2408 and a 24i, or 1296 or whatever? Do you have in your convulated and distorted brain  thought about this peculiar setup as a mean to have 16 I/O in studio, and a mobile 828 setup with 8 I/O? Or am I the twisted brain?

You can only do that with DP4 on Mac Os X. It's actually the only software that supports multiple devices for the moment.

One thing worth looking at is the latency issue. The PCI-based motu cards and interfaces deal with it on the hardware level. What about the 828? I can imagine your face putting the same signal through both of them and getting a different latency on each one...
