what recording programs can you use best for the imic? I've been using jasmine 1.0.9 and sounds like crap. Even tried to just use simple sound,
but there seems to slight pauses in the recording. I tried messing around
with the imic control panel but it just doesn't sound the way I want. I know I
went the cheap route, but is there anybody that actually got it right?

Also, I was wondering if anybody knew how to use the play through device
in the sound control panel. I had this working through my external input
one time, but i can't do it anymore.

I'm also using an imic with an ibook. I've managed to get the play-through function to work - note you have to have the unit set to line in as the play-through don't work with a mic.

Also, on another note. Have you noticed an audible hiss when using the imic. If you go to the sound manager and get play-through working try turning up the gain and listening to the output. Also, try recording a stretch of audio with no input connected. Then listen back. I get a faint hiss. Using multitrack program I find that this hiss acumulates as more tracks are recorded. This makes the imic useless for my uses.

I'd be interested in knowing whether I have a faulty unit!
